Recently the Australian government has announced several key progressive changes for the student visa processing ensuring a welcoming environment for the international students. The country has already started to accept the applications from the students implying that the students will be ready with a visa to travel to Australia when the borders reopen. Also, students will be granted additional time to provide English language test results, biometric and health checks in cases where normal testing services have been disrupted by the pandemic. Other changes include: International students will be able to lodge a further student visa application free of charge if they are unable to complete their studies within their original visa validity due to COVID-19.
Current student visa holders studying online outside Australia due to COVID-19 will be able to use that study to count towards the Australian study requirement for a post-study work visa. Graduates who held a student visa will be eligible to apply for a post-study work visa outside Australia if they are unable to return due to COVID-19.
Furthermore, the Nepal government has also decided to allow the Nepalese students to apply for their study abroad with respect to which the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has made arrangements to apply online and get NOC (No Objection Certificate). Students who want to get NOC can apply through the website specified by the ministry and will be informed online whether the application has been approved or not. If the application is approved, the student will have to deposit the fee in the specified bank and they will be informed about the date to receive NOC through email.
