Destination Australia is a scholarship funded by the Australian Government to both domestic and international students who wish to pursue their education from universities and other educational institutions in designated regional locations. Each year, the Australian government awards up to $15000 scholarship to over 1000 students studying a Certificate IV to Doctorate level qualification to encourage them to study in the regional areas. In 2020 around 1180 scholarships were awarded at 35 different institutes across regional Australia. The scholarship was first introduced in March 2019 under Australian Government’s Planning for Future Population to decongest the populated cities area and encourage growth and migration to regional places.

Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP)
The RTP enables international students to undertake funded postgraduate research qualification and gain the experience and expertise from leading Australian research programs. It covers the annual tuition fee for a Doctorate or Master’s Degree by Research, as well as the cost of standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the awardee and their dependents. For a Masters by research degree, the scholarships are available for two years, and for a Doctorate by research degree, they are accessible for three to four years.

Some education providers offer free accommodation facilities to their international students for up to six months or one year as a form of accommodation scholarship. They can provide this scholarship for the specific campus location only.
Regional Area Scholarship

Alumni and Family Scholarship
