Universities and colleges provide a wide range of scholarship options in New Zealand to the international students so that it will be easy for them to fund their studies. The students need to check the eligibility and criteria before applying for the scholarships. The primary criteria for most of scholarship is a good academic score. There are two most popular government scholarships for international students they are:

  • New Zealand Development Scholarships: It is a government scholarship for international students to pursue postgraduate study in New Zealand. This program is funded by the New Zealand Aid Program and managed by New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).
  • New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS): It is a scholarship program for international student who want to pursue PhD in New Zealand which is funded by the government. It includes university tuition fees, associated student levies, living pay (up to NZ$25,000 tax-free) and health insurance coverage up to NZ$ 600 annually for three years.
