10 free things to do in Perth for International Students
Perth, the capital and largest city of Western Australia, is one of the major destinations among international learners thinking to pursue their education in Australia. But, due to a completely new environment, many of them do not have the proper guidance about the things there.

Here are some of the free things that international students can do in Perth that helps them to adjust to the new environment. 

1. Explore Kings Park and Botanic Garden

Kings Park and Botanic Garden, one of the world’s largest inner city parks, is situated on the top of the hill and is famous for its distinct culture and diversified environment. Apart from the flora and fauna present in the botanic garden, the place attracts more visitors with the breathtaking view of Swan River and Perth city. You can also get free guided walk with the volunteers who make it easier for you to explore the place. If you are a nature lover and feels good to explore the surroundings, this is the best place for you.

2. Amble around Fremantle market

Fremantle market, an ancient market, is completely covered with the distinctive cultural atmosphere along indigenous and artistic products. Established since 1897, the market provides the diverse products produced locally along with free tasting for some items. Visitors can also hire a bike with refundable deposit from outside of Fremantle visitor center, Little Creatures Brewery and E-Shed Market. The city also includes the ancient heritage sites like Round house and Fremantle Prison.

3. Visit to Perth Cultural Center

Perth Cultural Center, located centrally at James Street Mall, consists of different artistic, cultural and educational institutes which are free to enter. If you are greatly interested to explore art and culture, it will be much more interesting place for you to visit. It includes an art gallery, museum, library and theaters reflecting most of the ancient cultures, arts and traditions attracting many of the visitors, that too free of cost. 

4. Swan Valley

Swan Valley is home to various wineries, breweries and distilleries. The wide range of shop there offers free tastings to the visitors. Not so far from the city, you can easily visit to Swan valley to explore nature by walking and cycling along the trails.  

5. Northbridge piazza

Northbridge piazza is an outdoor space in the Northbridge city, open to everyone with access to free movies, games, creative presentations and music screening in an outdoor LED screen along with live music and different exhibitions. It is a communal space with free yoga and Tai chi (Chinese exercise) classes in the morning and different events in day and night with free entry. You can also have a picnic and gathering with friends. 

6. Elizabeth Quay

Elizabeth Quay, located at the central business district of Perth, attracts visitors with mesmerizing view of sunset behind the tall buildings in the city. It is situated at the bank of the Swan River making the place even more attractive. There you can walk on the foot bridge enjoying the view across the river. 

7. Scroll around the beaches

You can visit the various beaches in Perth as the place is blessed with quite more numbers of beaches being situated at the bank of the Indian Ocean. It includes the beaches like Cottesloe beach, Bathers beach, Leighton beach and many more. You can also walk around the coastal sides and relax with the beautiful view of the ocean and nature whereas some workout sites are also located along the path where you can stretch and exercise.

8. Watch Kangaroo in Heirisson Island

Heirisson Island is situated in the Swan River between East Perth and Victoria Park. The major attraction of the place is Kangaroo where you can watch them jumping around freely in the green space. The island is connected with foreshore by the Causeway making it the easily accessible place for the visitors.  

 9. Hike to Lesmurdie fall

It is one of the best places to visit for you if you are immensely interested in hiking. Located at the Mundy Regional Park in the east hill of Perth, it has numbers of trails for you to choose depending upon the time you have, your physical wellness and degree of difficulty in hiking. You can enjoy the fresh nature with beautiful environment on the way to fall refreshing your mind and body.     

10. Free CAT bus to look around city

If you want to explore the city free of cost, Central Area Transmit(CAT) buses are a great way for you to travel around the city. It provides free bus services around three different city: Perth, Fremantle and Joondalup, making it easier for the visitors to view around these cities on bus.
